Managing Director, Gael Courcoux has extensive international experience in the telecommunications industry, covering construction management, project management, business development and general management.
Since joining the Marais Group in 2007, he has successfully worked on fibre deployment throughout Europe, Africa and more recently Australia and New Zealand.
Prior to this, Gael spent 15 years as Regional Manager for French construction company, VINCI where he built up considerable expertise in civil engineering and water treatment. He previously held the position of Managing Director for Marais-Lucas Technologies and has been focused on the Australia and New Zealand marketplace for Marais since 2009.
He has extensive knowledge in the application of all Marais trenching technologies to successfully deliver major infrastructure networks for all key industry sectors across Australia and New Zealand.
Business Development Manager, David Clement has over 13 years’ experience in business development and operations management with a strong exposure to international markets throughout his career within Oil&Gas, Water and infrastructure projects.
David thrive in an environment where his solution building skills are put to the test and his passion lies in applying learnings from different working cultures into strategic thinking.
Master in building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, he is an adept at networking and connecting people.
As Business Development Manager for the Australian marketplace, David has established during the last decade a reputation for his strong project analysis skills and ability to provide clients with innovative solutions.
Financial Manager, Julien Charton began working with the Marais Group back in 2013 as a Junior Cost Controller, where his expertise and considerable potential was soon recognised.
He was quickly appointed to the position of Financial Manager for Marais Laying Technologies in April 2014 with direct responsibility for Marais’ corporate finance, cost control, IFRS accounting, business analysis and development as well as supply chain management.
A passionate traveller, Julien completed a degree in Economics at the University of Dundee, Scotland before returning to France to complete a Masters in Corporate Finance at the highly regarded ESSCA Graduate School of Management.
Julien is looking forward to new challenges in the Australia and New Zealand where he will be creating common financial, inventory and procedural platforms to deliver greater project efficiencies to Marais clients.
Project Manager, Adrien Merceron currently manages the FFTH (fibre-to-the-home) network project, New Zealand’s ultrafast broadband network rollout as part of his main role supervising all activities in the New Zealand marketplace.
A Civil Engineering graduate from the esteemed ESTP University in Paris, Adrien then became an exchange student at Curtin University, Western Australia to complete his Masters degree (also in Civil Engineering).
Throughout his career, Adrien has acquired valuable experience in construction and engineering, working with respected companies such as Guintoli SA, VINCI and Getelec TP. He joined Marais in June 2014, where he worked with the business development team, in charge of cost estimation, scheduling and site surveys.
Adrien’s knowledge and experience are contributing factors to him quickly establishing a strong reputation with clients as a dynamic, solutions-oriented project manager.
Project Engineer, Adrien Marteddu is the resident expert in Ultra Fast Broadband Projects with direct responsibility for the preparation, organisation and management of trenching, cable laying and reinstatement works for all key industry sectors in the New Zealand marketplace.
Adrien is an excellent team leader who gets the most out of his teams to deliver efficient outcomes for Marais clients.
He holds a Masters degree in Civil Engineering from the renowned L’École d'Ingénieurs du CESI and prior to this completed an apprenticeship in Civil Engineering Project Management, with the support of international engineering company ASSYSTEM.
Following his studies, Adrien travelled to New Zealand working on multiple sites where he built up a wealth of knowledge regarding construction methods in New Zealand. He has held his current position with Marais Laying New Zealand since August 2014.
Cleanfast Operator, Gareth Emeny has held this position with the New Zealand team since 2012. He brings to the role decades of experience in crane operating and concrete cutting and his extensive knowledge and understanding of machinery makes him an invaluable member of the team.
Gareth operates the Marais Laying Cleanfast trenching operation as well as the Rt80 and Rt100 sidecut machines. The hi-spec design of these machines in the hands of an efficient operator, such as Gareth, enables micro-trenching around corners and most ground contours.
Gareth’s supervision, his team are able to trench at an impressive speed
of 80-100m per hour. Gareth’s skills and experience to date ensures
that machinery is operated with minimum disruption to the surrounding
environment and the most efficient solutions are delivered to clients.
